Vans looks to its past to bring forth two Checkerboard patterns from the Vans archives as an update to the Anaheim Factory Pack. First introduced last season, the Anaheim Factory Pack takes elements from the original make and model of Vans Classic Icons and reinvents them with the Vans’ innovative UltraCushÔ foam technology for premium comfort.

The Authentic 44 DX and Style 36 DX were developed to match the original construction of the Classics that were produced in the first Vans factory in Anaheim, California. Cotton laces, heavy 10 oz. canvas, style numbers, original drill lining found on the heel of each shoe and a higher glossed foxing tape that captures the sheen that came from the original vulcanization process, are all design elements that were seen over 51 years ago. As a nod to the retro styling, Vans designers dressed the Authentic 44 DX and Style 36 DX with Checkerboard in OG black and mauve colorways. Along with the timeless design, each model has been upgraded with an UltraCushÔ sockliner delivering modernized comfort.

The Anaheim Factory Pack pays homage to Vans’ humble beginnings that led to five decades of pinnacle design. To catch the limited run of Classics, visit selected Vans stores and vans.eu now.

Vans embarks on a journey to adventure with the European release of the UltraRange campaign on Tuesday, August 1. Marking a major milestone in Vans’ footwear design history, the UltraRange leads the path forward for innovation, emphasizing the brand’s expanded vision to create a versatile footwear model that provides advanced comfort, lightweight traction, and superior mobility combined with Vans’ timeless style.

Living out of a suitcase on multiple expeditions a year, Vans pro surfer Pat Gudauskas finds endless inspiration traveling around the world in search of the perfect surf. With his collaborative insight, Vans ventured to create a new silhouette that offered maximum versatility across diverse landscapes and lifestyles. “What if we created something that brings the look of Vans together with the functionality needed for different terrains—city streets, boardwalks, mountain paths,” Pat expressed. “...Bring the element of comfortable, hearty and functional all in one shoe—it would have comfort and utility, but look like Vans no matter where you are.”
“Design and functional product feedback from our athletes has been critical to the evolution of Vans product development ever since Tony Alva asked for a shoe with additional padding to help him progress his skateboarding technique,” said Dave Solomon, Vans VP of Global Product, Footwear. “As Vans continues to grow, it’s essential that we continue to engage with the people that live our brand ethos and extend our products through innovative technology while maintaining Vans’ classic design to enable their daily pursuits.”

Drawing off the success of the original Boom Boom Jacket offered in Fall 2016, Vans Women’s Apparel and Accessories expands the military-style bomber offering to include a full-fledged apparel collection that will include new outerwear silhouettes along with accessories that match back to a selection of women’s Classic footwear styles. The Boom Boom Collection was designed to inspire and celebrate the camaraderie among women. The pieces from this collection can be worn as a symbol that represents the attitude and essence of female strength, beauty and creative self-expression through style.

Partnering with Los Angeles-based photographer Adri Law, Vans captured the fleeting sense of adventure as five women traveled up the California coast to San Luis Obispo.
The 18-piece collection highlights designs that draw inspiration from the original Boom Boom Jacket combined with workwear elements. The collection kicks off with the Boom Boom III Jacket which showcases the traditional nylon bomber styling with zip front closure, snap pocket detailing, finished with a contrast marigold lining. New for this season, Vans introduces the Boom Boom Quilted Coat, a long-line body structure with all-over quilted detailing and a 4-ounce fill for increased warmth. Each Boom Boom Jacket is embellished with a “Vans Since 1966” patch. To compliment the outerwear assortment, the Boom Boom BF tees are available in black and port royal, with front and back graphic placements.

Showcasing the same nylon materialization and marigold liner, Women’s Classic footwear get the complimentary treatment, comprising three Sk8-Hi Slim styles and two Old Skools with nylon bomber material along the quarter-panel and a unifying marigold footbed liner. The Style 23 V completes the footwear assortment with nylon panels and a suede toe-cap with Velcro closures. The collection is rounded out with three nylon Boom Boom Backpacks and two signature style Boom Boom hats along with a premium knit beanie.

The Vans Boom Boom collection is available across Europe from August 1st, 2017.

Vans, “Off The Wall” Since ’66

We are proud to announce that SOVRN is now available in shops throughout the European continent. The roots, the inspiration and the demand have made SOVRN a perfect candidate for its introduction in the region. The release in Europe is now a reality, thanks to SOVRN for the trust.

Founded in the UK in 1991 by Jeremy Fox, lan Deacon and Geoff Rowley, and moved to California in 1994.

The Flipteam make history through his videos during the years, especially from the Sorry trilogy. Nowadays still having one of the best team of all over the world, with young riders and real legends.

This past weekend Vans Shop Riot Series 2017 visited the brand-new Skills Park in Winterthur, Switzerland.  

14 Shop teams from all over Switzerland went into battle to fight for the title of “Switzerland’s Best Shop Team” and therefore winning a place in Milan, Italy for the finals.  

From the beginning skate.ch set the bench mark with consistent flow and huge technical tricks. Lino Häfeli, who’s on fire, Simon Stricker, who’s competing all over Europe and Fabio Martin, one of the best transition skaters of his generation, were dominant.  It was smooth backtails at the down rail and noseblunts combined + the finest transition skating which demonstrated this team had a whole repertoire of skills. But in the end, it was the team effort which lead them to the win.    

Doodah Bern, Doodah Luzern and our friends from the French part of Switzerland, Da Shit Skateboards, completed the four teams’ lineup which made it to the finals. Da Shit who claimed the win in 2013 & 2014 were highly motivated to walk away with the crown again. However, on the day the team from skate.ch skated too good to get defeated. The level raised again in the final and it was Doodah Bern who made it to the 2nd place in front of Doodah Luzern.   In the Nixon Best trick session everyone headed to the big section. It was Janos Herzog with his Bs Bigspin Flip who took home the win and a signature Nixon watch.   The Riot heads to Portugal next on July 8th, 2017.

With a partnership dating back to the early 1980’s, Vans brings forth the third installment of Vans x Peanuts designs, highlighting characters from Charles M. Schulz’s beloved Peanuts gang. Using vintage illustrations from the late ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, Vans designers bring “Off The Wall” elements to iconic Peanuts moments that remain true to Vans’ unique design aesthetic. The Vans x Peanuts collection of footwear, apparel and accessories launches worldwide June 2.  

The Vans x Peanuts collection features six core designs across a variety of silhouettes within the Vans Classics, Surf and Apparel collections. Peanuts protagonist, Charlie Brown, kicks off the collection quite literally as he is seen on a men’s pocket tee and raglan pushing his way on skateboard in pair of Old Skools. Cop his steez with a pair of Old Skools outfitted in yellow canvas and black suede, showcasing a chevron Sidestripe and “Good Grief” embroidered atop the tongue of each shoe.      



Not to be outdone, Snoopy, his alter ego Joe Cool and his pal Woodstock are featured throughout the men’s and women’s apparel offering. Joe Cool is highlighted in an allover character print on a men’s white button down and hangs out on a Vans’ flying “V” logo on the back of the Torrey coach’s jacket. Within the women’s selection, Joe Cool is featured on a black and white striped backpack, polo dress and crew sweatshirt. The monotone assortment matches down to the sole with a black and white Sk8-Hi and Slide-On Sandal that shows the profiles of a shade-clad Woodstock and Joe Cool.   The loveable Snoopy can be found skateboarding holding his checkerboard water bowl across the Authentic and Old Skool II backpack, sleeping on a Sidestripe of dog bones on the SK8-Hi Reissue, and hiding in a red fringe dog house on the Sk8-Hi Moc. His playful nature is perfectly showcased on the Classic Slip-On as he tries to steal a kiss from Lucy on the vamp and puts the lip smack on Charlie Brown on the heel counter.        

Peanuts fans will be able to choose from countless renditions of the limited Vans x Peanuts designs across men’s and women’s footwear, apparel and accessories, while tiny tykes will get a downsized assortment of the Classic footwear options. The Vans x Peanuts Collection is available to shop in stores and online at vans.eu globally starting June 2!

New performance skate model launches from Vans’ pinnacle innovation pipeline  

This spring, Vault by Vans returns with a new collection of premium footwear, showcasing jacquard materializations to highlight classic Vans imagery. The stylized Vans silhouettes are fabricated into intricate, variegated weaves and patterns for an elevated take on the classics.  

In this five-piece collection, the elaborate development process is featured on three Original Classics silhouettes - the Sk8-Hi, Old Skool and Authentic. Each pair in the Jacquard assortment incorporates a distinct jungle floral print and for the Authentic styles, it is combined with Vans’ iconic checkerboard print.  

The jacquard weaving process is an intricate process in which all threads are pre-dyed to match Vans’ custom Pantone colors, hand-selected by the Vault by Vans designers. These strands are then threaded through hundreds of needles on a jacquard loom, which carefully weaves each upper to the finest detail. Each pattern is strategically designed and engineered as a one-piece upper creating a sleek rendition on the classic silhouettes.  

The Vault by Vans x Jacquard collection launches on May 27, 2017 in Europe at select Vault accounts.

Vans pays tribute to over 50 years of “Off The Wall” design history by releasing the Anaheim Factory pack, a collection of Classic silhouettes that draws inspiration from the original footwear produced in Anaheim, California. When Vans opened for business in 1966, a 400 sq. ft. retail store was connected to the front of the production factory, which sold a handful of simple canvas footwear. Today, Vans calls upon those early styling cues to release a modern update to Vans Icons.
 
Every design element within the Anaheim Factory pack could be dated back to the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Style numbers are used to signify the original design mold of three footwear models – the Authentic 44, Old Skool 46 and Sk8-Hi 38. Each style utilizes a marshmallow sidewall with a higher profile and is treated with a slight sheen that was present after going through Vans’ early vulcanization process. The entire offering features heavy a 10-oz. canvas and the Sidestripe models showcase a suede toe cap, heel counter and eyestay. All colorways including the racing red and light grey could have been found when you visited the original Anaheim Factory store. Vans has equipped each silhouette with a premium UltraCushÔ footliner so you can enjoy a modernized take on one of Vans Classic Icon silhouettes.

These appropriately summery garments will keep you covered through transitional weather with an array of palm patterned prints featured across the historic Vans raglan, lightweight jacket and backpack. More head turning renditions of the men’s and women’s range in apparel and accessories are also available now.    
Additionally, new tropical footwear iterations have been introduced on the iconic Old Skool, Authentic and Sk8-Hi silhouettes.
